Candidates must be full-time graduate students (Masters or Ph.D.) at the University of Manitoba to be considered. They can apply for the scholarship regardless of their country or field of study.

Every year, the Faculty of Graduate Studies awards over $2 million in University Graduate Fellowships (UMGF) to full-time graduate students (Master’s and Ph.D.) in order to encourage academic excellence. It is given to pupils who have demonstrated exceptional intellectual capacity and academic success.

Beneficiaries of University of Manitoba Fellowships will be offered the benefits below:

1) UMGF Master’s awards are estimated at a sum of $14,000 per annum for 12 or 24 months, up to a total of $28,000.

2) UMGF Doctoral awards are estimated at $18,000 per annum for 12, 24, 36 or 48 months, up to a total of $72,000.
